Finding our purpose in life… Isn’t that what we all want?
For some people, finding their purpose takes a whole lifetime to figure it out. Simply because they’ve never asked the right questions (or weren’t stimulated to do so).
So which questions do we have to ask ourselves?
Adam Leipzig gave an interesting TedTalk at TedXMalibu in 2013 about this topic, where he explains that you are able to find your purpose in 5 minutes by basically asking 5 ‘simple’ questions.
Is it that simple?
Well, what I always tell myself is: “You’ll only find the right answers if you ask the right questions”.
Try for yourself. Watch the video first and follow the questions below.
The 5 questions to find your ‘purpose’:
- What is your first name?
- What do you (love to) do?
(what is the one thing that you do right now, you feel supremely qualified to teach other people)
- Who do you do it for?
(Picture them in your mind)
- What do those people want or need?
(What do they want or need that they come to you so you can give them this thing)
- How do they change/transform as a result of what you give them.
In order to find your purpose, but the above answers in one sentence: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5
And as a bonus: In order to create your effective personal elevator pitch
When you are at a party of event and someone askes you: “what do you do?”
Answer them number 5
